Privacy Policy
Draft — written to describe this app honestly, not reviewed by a lawyer. Have it checked before treating it as a final, published policy.
What we don't do
We don't create user accounts, don't use cookies, don't run advertising trackers, and don't sell or share family data with anyone. There is no sign-up — the app works entirely within your own browser.
What's stored, and where
Your child's profile, chores, points, rewards, and activity history are stored locally in your browser's storage on this device only. They are not synced to any server and are not accessible to us. Clearing your browser's site data for this app permanently deletes it — we cannot recover it for you.
Chore-verification photos are stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB, not on our servers. A photo is automatically deleted from your device 30 days after a submission has been reviewed; the written record (what was done, when, and points awarded) stays in your activity history.
What we send to Google's Gemini API, and why
When a chore requires photo verification, that photo is sent to Google's Gemini API to check it against that chore's checklist. Nothing else about your family — names, points, chore history — is included in that request. If AI voice read-aloud is used, the on-screen text being read is sent to Gemini to generate audio; no other family data is included.
If no AI key is configured, or the request fails, the app falls back to an offline estimate instead, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's Gemini API terms and Google's privacy policy. We encourage you to review both before enabling photo verification for your family.
Children's privacy
This app is intended to be used by a parent together with, or on behalf of, their own children within their own household. No account is created for a child, no data about a child is collected by us on any server, and no data is shared with third parties for advertising or profiling. A parent controls the device and can delete all stored data at any time by clearing the browser's site data.
Your control over this data
Because everything lives in your own browser, you are always in control: clearing this site's data (or uninstalling the app if installed as a home-screen app) permanently removes everything. There is no account to delete on our end because none was ever created.
